Capt. Dr. Roys Mallassery
Prof. Capt. Roys P. David / Roys Mallassery, member on the teaching faculty of the college since 16 October 1985, took charge as the Principal of the college on 02 May 2013. He has been the Head of the Department of Malayalam since 2005 and the NCC officer (Indian Army) of the college since 1993. He was also the NSS Programme Officer during 1996 to 1999. Prof. Roys held key positions in various realms of administration of the college such as Co-ordinator of the IQAC, College Academic Coordinator , Staff Representative on the Governing Council and Secretary of the College Staff Council. Besides securing Ph.D on Baibilinte Samvedanathil Rachanaathanthratthinte Praadhaanyam, M Phil and B. Ed Degrees from Kerala University, Prof. Roys has secured BD from Serampore University, and Master Programme in Counselling from Cincinnati Bible Seminary, USA. He is a graduate in Ecumenism from the University of Geneva, Switzerland and has completed the Advanced Diploma in Christian Leadership from Haggai Institute, Singapore and Higher Studies on Science and Religion from Cambridge University, UK. Prof. Roys has been serving as the Chief Editor of Malankara Sabha Tharaka, the official organ of the Mar Thoma Church. He is a Member of the Mar Thoma Higher Education Commission, Subject Expert in the Staff Selection Committee of MG University and Member in the Board of Studies of MG University. He has proved his mettle in organizing various training camps, workshops and conferences. Apart from the academic domain, Prof. Roys has served as the India Area Service Director and District Governor of Y’sMen International, Chairman of various committees of YMCA Kerala Region, Member of the Episcopal Nomination Board and Member of the Clergy Selection Board of the Mar Thoma Syrian Church. He is a recipient of the President Scout Award from the Hon’ble President of India, the Nehru Youth Kendra Award from HRD Ministry of Govt. of India, Best Teacher Award by AIR INDIA and Manorama, and Teachers Merit Award by the Mar Thoma Syrian Church.
