The Postgraduate and Research Department of Physics, St. Thomas College, Kozhencherry conducted an Awareness Program on Energy Management & LED Bulb Making at MTHS Mathapara, Ranni on 28 November 2025 at 1:30 PM. The programme was aimed at school students with the intention of fostering scientific awareness, practical skills, and environmental responsibility. Teachers and students of the department visited the school and interacted with students and teachers. The programme began with an introductory session on the importance of energy management in the present scenario, focusing on the increasing demand for electricity, conservation strategies, and the need for sustainable energy solutions. The session emphasized how simple measures such as adopting LED lighting can significantly reduce energy consumption and environmental impact. A practical demonstration on LED bulb making was then conducted, during which students observed the assembly of LED components and learned about circuitry, safety measures, and functional testing. The hands-on demonstration generated keen interest among the students, who actively participated by asking questions and interacting with the resource persons. The programme successfully bridged theoretical concepts with practical applications, helping students understand the relevance of physics in modern technology and sustainable practices.
